Salim Sawalha is the Chief Retail Officer at the National Bank of Iraq, with over 20 years of experience in the financial sector across local and international markets. From 2016 to early 2025, he led the digital transformation of retail banking at Jordan Commercial Bank as Assistant General Manager and Head of Retail Banking. He previously served as Country Manager at Visa, overseeing Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine, and held leadership roles at Wells Fargo and Chase in the U.S.
In addition to his corporate roles, Salim is an entrepreneur who founded a cleaning services company and launched two successful e-commerce businesses. He has taught Arabic and Business Administration part-time at California State University and DeVry University, and regularly delivers workshops and lectures on digital transformation and AI in business.
Salim holds two Master’s degrees in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from California State University, East Bay, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Yarmouk University in Jordan. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and holds professional certifications in digital transformation and fintech from Harvard, Wharton, IE Business School, and others.
